Network Engineer hos Jacobs

Your Impact:

As a network engineer on these projects, you will contribute to the resilience of critical communications for national security customers. You will help develop a network that will enable secure, dynamic, encrypted network transport of critical information to users at various locations. You will be part of the team that designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs the networks. Provide support and testing of system installation at various locations. Review and provide solutions/recommendations to required capabilities by helping to guide the program towards new functionality to meet user needs.
  • Collaborate with a team of engineers to design, implement, and test features and functionality to support Jacobs’ high performance computing products
  • Support and maintain Jacobs’ high performance computing products and related documentation
  • Interact with customers to gather requirements an understand use cases
  • Design and plan network communication systems
  • Provide specification documentation and detailed schematics for network architecture
  • Develop and define techniques and tools to support the most efficient solution to meet program needs
  • Conduct testing of network design and implementation
  • Maintain and provide technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnections and interfaces such as routers, firewalls, switches, bridges, gateways, etc.
  • Troubleshoot, upgrade, and implement improvements to the entire network system for the supported programs

Here's What You'll Need:

  • 4 years’ experience with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Network Engineering, or related field
  • Knowledge and experience designing, maintaining, and troubleshooting network switching and routing protocols
  • Understanding of IP networking standards and systems such as SD-WAN, firewall, routers, VLANs, VPN, DNS, SMTP and DHCP.
  • Experience with LAN/WAN operations and protocols
  • Experience working in development and operational networking environments
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • A current active TS with SCI eligibility and willingness to take a polygraph exam
  • Ability to obtain a CompTIA Security+ CE certification within the first 6 months of employment


  • Master’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • Efficient in supporting and administrating cloud services
  • VMware vSphere configuration and maintenance experience
  • A current active TS/SCI with Poly
  • A valid CompTIA Security+ CE Certification
