The Role:
Rakuten Kobo is looking for an enthusiastic new Partner Integration Manager. An exciting and diverse role the successful candidate will work with various Retailers and Online Booksellers all around the globe. Our team look after all aspects of the product integration between Kobo and our partners, so you get to work on content management, localisation, purchasing and financial reconciliation, customer journeys, data analysis across timezones, cultures and languages. Internally you are the hub for our sales teams, merchandisers, product team, customer care and software engineering group through which you secure all that is required to make our partners as successful as possible.
Responsibilities:
  • Ownership of a set of Partners
  • Know the details of the partner’s integration (what features they have and have not integrated with, what makes them unique, and what are the current gaps)
  • Maintain regular contact with the partner’s representative
  • Keep them appraised of upcoming developments
  • Follow up on Open Issues

  • Drive further integration features, Customer experience improvements and ultimately conversion and sales
  • Schedule and Run regular Partner update meetings (monthly/quarterly)
  • Work with the Commercial/Sales & Marketing Manager for the partner’s region to monitor performance and identify and deliver potential opportunities
  • Leverage data to know your partner and their customers – what are the gaps and opportunities that should be addressed
  • Flag and escalate any potential issues related to the partner.

  • For smaller integration projects related to their partners, act as project coordinator
  • Responsible for defining the integration component of Pre-sales opportunities:
  • Working with product to ensure alignment roadmap
  • Working with architecture/engineering/product on new features/concepts
  • Working with Country Managers/BD to value new opportunities

  • Work with other teams at Kobo (Product/PMO/Mar-Prod/Dev/CustCare/Ops) providing insight on partner interaction and opportunities

The role requires a team player focused on results with a hands-on approach to delivering with speed, attention to detail and with a passion for books. A candidate with a good combination of strategic, leadership and self-starting executional skills will thrive. Being data oriented and able to leverage data for decision making is a key attribute. Is curious, asks questions, turns over stones, finds a way.
The Skillset:
Required:
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in business analysis or vendor management
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working with external third parties
  • Strong analytical skills - you take research initiatives and dig in to solve challenges. Able to dig through data to create a narrative

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong team player, with proven ability to influence at all levels
  • Technical skills such as programming or SQL are valuable (you won’t need to write code, but having the logic frame of mind to problem solve is key)
  • You are comfortable presenting to internal and external groups as a subject matter expert
  • You are comfortable explaining business requirements to technical teams and vice versa

  • You speak English fluently

Nice to haves:
  • Publishing Experience
  • Fluency in additional languages

  • Experience with BI tools such as tableau or Domo.
  • Good understanding of data engineering principles (fault tolerance, SLAs & monitoring, dependency management, ...)
  • Business Development experience
  • A passion for reading!
